We are average Americans. All sections of this country and many of its occupations are represented, as well as many political, economic, social, and religious backgrounds. We are a people who normally would not mix. But there exists among us a fellowship, a friendliness, and an understanding which is indescribably wonderful.
– Big Book of Alcoholics Anonymous pg. 17
Community is often described as a feeling of fellowship with others. A fellowship has the capacity to celebrate or the heaviness to grieve. Our community is grieving and our hearts are burdened. We stand beside our employees and support our clients because what affects one directly, affects us all indirectly.
Every day at The Healing Place, men and women come through our doors who are broken and need hope. Hope for unconditional love. Hope for healing. Hope for understanding. Hope to be heard. Hope for a different future. We want that for each and every person we see. We want that for our community.
We want to be a place of safety, one of love and inclusion, and one of encouragement. We will continue to fight against hate and prejudice. We will continue to stand beside those who have lost their support and give their voices courage and meaning.
Addiction has no racial, gender, religious, or economic bias. Everyone is welcome here.
